I’ve known my pals Shane and Pat Pearsall since I was 14 or 15. Pat has been my musical sidekick and TEBmate for so many years, and Shane, the leader of one of my all-time favorite Bend bands, Empty Space Orchestra, has been a longtime homie. But the three of us had never actually played music together up until recently.
With our busy lives and everyone coming and going, we decided to start a project that wasn’t focused on gigs. The idea was simple: What if we just wrote and recorded songs without the pressure of performing them live?
We got together a handful of times this winter and created some sounds that feel fresh and exciting to me.
Shane and Pat are two of my musical heroes, and it’s been an incredible honor to work with them on this project. Huge thanks to both of those dudes for their massive contributions to this one.
